Owner of MarchBlanc Inc., resident of Baton Rouge and native of Plaquemine, he died 11 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2012, at home. He was 85 and a Army veteran of World War II. Visiting was held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, April 6, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and resumes on Saturday, April 7, from 11 a.m. until religious service in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m., conducted by Deacon Brent Duplessis. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by wife, Agatha Harden Marchand daughter, Jacqueline M. Pourciau two grandchildren, Kyle Bannister and wife Kristy and Brittany Wells and husband Clint three greatgrandchildren, Hannah Bannister, Casey Wells and Bailey Wells. Preceded in death by parents, Berlin and Thelma Marchand one sister, Betty Caldwell and one brother, Berlin Marchand Jr. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, past member of Piedmont Club, Camelot Club, Krew of LouisianaWashington D.C. and former board member of Krew of Tucumcari.
