Roland Joseph Louque, Jr. M.D.,a retired pharmacist and emergency room doctor, died on March 20, 2012, at the age of 79, at his home in Baton Rouge, LA. A native of Lutcher, LA who served four years in U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He graduated from Catholic High School in 1950. He was a graduate of Loyola School of Pharmacy in New Orleans, LA. He received an honorary doctorate degree in pharmacy. He graduated LSU Medical School in 1965. He pioneered along with four other emergency room doctors to start the original Emergency Room Physicians Association. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA on Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 5 pm until 8 pm. Mass of the Resurrection at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Lane, Baton Rouge, LA on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 10 am conducted by Rev. Jerry Martin and Rev. Clarence Waguespack. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Anne Louise Lieux Louque three sons: Roland III and wife, Robbie Louque, Richard Louque and wife, Pam, and Reggie Louque one sister, Barbara Guidry and husband, Carl Grandchildren: Cody Michael and wife, Monique, Robert Joseph Louque, Cara Louque Thompson, Tyler Joseph Louque and Corey Edward Louque Greatgrandchildren: Kasen Michael Louque, Garret Michael Bueche and Grant Joseph Thompson Godchildren: Daniel Landry, Troy Flynn, and Tommy Guidry. Preceded in death by his parents, Roland Sr. and Emmeline Frederic Louque. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Knights of Columbus. Thanks to Cardinal Hospice, especially to Pam Rowland, Wanda Mathews, and Stephanie Lepisto, and a special friend, Rusty Jackson. Also, thanks to Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Bonck for their care and concern at this difficult time. Pallbearers are Tommy Guidry, Rusty Jackson, Cody, Joe, Tyler and Corey Louque. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society and St. Judes Childrens Research.
