Rodney Louis Arnold

May 9, 1958 — August 27, 2024

Rodney Louis Arnold, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on August 27, 2024. He was born on May 9, 1958, in Baton Rouge, LA, where he grew up and cultivated his deep-rooted love for the outdoors, particularly in fishing and hunting.

Rodney was a 1976 graduate of Belaire High School in Baton Rouge, later pursuing higher education and graduating from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA, in 1980.

Rodney dedicated many years of his career to the chemical industry at Exxon Refinery in Baton Rouge and at BASF in Geismar, LA, before retiring. His colleagues respected him greatly for his professionalism and work ethic, and he carried the skills and values instilled by these experiences into all aspects of his life.

Known for his personable and outgoing nature, Rodney made friendships easily, fostering connections that remained close to his heart despite the years and miles that may have separated them. He cherished his family dearly and was actively involved in the lives of his children, enjoying many memorable outdoor moments with them throughout the years.

Rodney is survived by his wife of 41 years, Terri Strickland Arnold; his daughter, Shannon Granata Thompson (TW); sons, Adam Chase Arnold, Aaron Burke Arnold, and Grant Benjamin Arnold; sister, Laura Arnold Treuil (Richard); brothers, Wilford William Arnold, Jr., Timmy Arnold (Fran), David Arnold, and Steven Arnold; grandchildren, Burke Garrison Summerford, Grace Anne Finn Thompson, and Wells Carter Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
