Robert Wingate

Robert O. Bobby Wingate, 83, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2013 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Bobby retired as Assistant Chief from the Baton Rouge Fire Department after serving 30 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Acacia Shriners. His greatest love was his family and he enjoyed to travel with the love of his life, Barbara, around the United States. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara Wingate three daughters and sonsinlaw, Kay and John Calhoun, Robbie and Jerry Alderson, and Donna and Randy Stephenson three sons and daughtersinlaw, Ronnie and Belinda Wingate, David and Candy Wingate, and Mike and Kay Wingate 17 grandchildren 39 greatgrandchildren three greatgrandchildren and one greatgreatgrandchild on the way sister, Peggy Salley two brothers, Dan and Ray Wingate. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mabel Wingate infant sister, Wilma Rae Wingate. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Friday, September 27, 2013 from 4 pm until 8 pm and will resume on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 1 pm until funeral service at 3 pm conducted by Rev. Jason Dunham. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Bryan, Ronnie, Rustin, and Jason Romano, Jesse Wingate, Sean Stewart, and Tom Alderson.
