Robert Spilberger

Robert Lon Lonny Spilberger, 65, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA. A loving husband, father, grandfather and an all around good guy. He was born in Memphis, TN and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA for more than 25 years. Lonny graduated high school in Lake Providence, LA in the class of 1966 and was also a 1971 graduate of Northeast University with a major in pharmacy. A pharmacist with K Mart for 40 years, including District Manager for 10 years, and Regional Manager for 2 years. He was a founding member of St. Jean Vianney parish in 1976, Eucharistic minister, and a religion teacher. He trained as a diabetes educator at Oschner Clinic in Baton Rouge. Lonny worked part time at Reeves Drug Store in Vidalia, LA. Survived by his loving wife, Claudia Tonry Spilberger son, Joseph Lon Spilberger and wife Helen daughters, Stephanie Lynn Spilberger, and Elizabeth Betsy Spilberger Blackburn and husband Larry Lane, Jr. grandchildren, Odin Leahy, Michael Chen, Jaxon Spilberger, Drake Spilberger, Sophie Spilberger and Piper Blackburn brothers, Kim and Kevin Spilberger and sisters, Tina Marie Spilberger Miller and Jo Christiane Spilberger Frickey. Preceded in death by his parents, Joe K. and Bettina N. Spilberger. Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 5 pm until 8 pm and will resume at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church on Friday, June 28, 2013 from 9 am until funeral service at 11 am conducted by Father Tom. Interment following at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
