Robert Rice

Robert Richard Rice, born on January 26, 1940 in Kenedy, TX. and was raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Bob graduated in 1958 from LaGrange High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from LSU in 1963. Bob played football for LSU Tigers from 1958-1963 and was a member of the Chinese Bandits. Bob worked for Martin-Marietta as a Senior Sales Executive. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. Rice and Varenus Collins Rice of Lake Charles, LA. He is survived by his wife, Kay; son, Jeff Rice and wife Cindy of Baton Rouge; son Jeremy Benson of Dallas, Texas; daughter Shelby Benson of Austin, Texas; sister, Lottie Rae Courvelle and husband Donnie of Lake Charles; granddaughters, Tyler, Baldwin and Greer Rice; nieces, Lindsay Bollotte Ardoin and husband Marvin; Haley Bollotte Pole and husband Dustin of Welsh, LA. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 12 from 9am until services at 11am at The Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 3555 Jones Creek Road, Baton Rouge, La.
