January 19, 1941 — May 25, 2024

Baton Rouge

Dr. Robert I. Comeaux, Jr., a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed peacefully in his home on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the age of 83.

Robert was born January 19,1941, in Broussard, Louisiana, to Mr. Robert I. Comeaux, Sr. and Mrs. Corinne LeBlanc Comeaux. He graduated from Catholic High School in 1959 and furthered his education by attending Louisiana State University where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Robert graduated with a Doctorate of Dentistry from Loyola University New Orleans in 1966 and was proud to serve as a Captain in the United States Army as a dentist during the Vietnam War and while stationed in Virginia.

Robert ran a successful dental practice in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for 40 years. He dearly loved every single one of his patients and their families. He always formed a special bond with each patient he treated. His dedication as a gentle and loving dentist was unparalleled. He was also a member of the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, and the Greater Baton Rouge Dental Association.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Robert was an avid fly fisherman and duck hunter. His great passion and love for fishing and hunting even lead to travel to Alaska, South America, and New Zealand. He was also an exceptional artist. He loved to paint and illustrate, especially wildlife scenes. Robert and his wife Patricia opened “Wildlife Limited” which specialized in Wildlife art and décor in Baton Rouge.

Robert’s greatest accomplishment was his great love for his friends and family. He loved and adored his wife, children and 7 grandchildren. He has now been granted his last wish, which was to be reunited with his wife, Patricia, in Heaven for their 60th wedding anniversary on June 13th.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Patricia Weaver Comeaux; and his brother, Paul Comeaux.

He is survived by his daughter, Christine Noël Comeaux (Beau Kern); his sons, Keith Comeaux (Cecilia Cheng Comeaux) and Brian Comeaux (Rebecca Bruce Comeaux); his sisters, Charlene Kennedy, Susie Heroman, and Patrice Ellis; and his beloved grandchildren, Travis Alessi, Hope Alessi, Emma Alessi, Maxwell Comeaux, Evangeline Comeaux, Estelle Comeaux, and Marcel Comeaux.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
