Bob left at peace with the world on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011. Born Oct. 16, 1936, in New Martinsville, W.Va., the second son of Joseph A. and Hazel Gilger Henry. He was educated in Wetzel County public schools and received a bachelors degree in geology from Marietta College, Marietta, Ohio. As a practicing geologist, he held professional registration in California as a professional geologist and as a certified engineering geologist. Bob was particularly proud of developing the slope design for the section of Interstate 64 through the mountains of Western Virginia, and of being selected to participate in the investigation and solution of a major slope failure in the Culebra Reach Section of the Panama Canal. Bob was eventually convinced to accept assignments in the supervision and management of construction projects. In this capacity, he successfully completed power and petrochemical projects, both domestic and in the Middle East. He saw many colors Touched many people And everywhere he went He left a monument. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Interment at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce Bauer Henry three children, Joseph Michael, Elizabeth Ann, and Mary Kathleen and husband John Maloney and three grandchildren, Katelyn, Stephanie and Christie Slay. He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother, William H. Henry and a number of aunts and uncles. Bob was an Elk, a Moose, and a Methodist by faith.
