July 14, 1943 — March 10, 2010

A resident of Loranger, Robert Claude Bobby Ezell, 66, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010, in a car accident. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Broome Ezell a daughter and soninlaw, Vickie and Bryan Krantz a son, Robert Ty Ezell grandson, Austen Glenn Krantz granddaughter, Ashlee Marie Krantz three sisters and brothersinlaw, Billie and Bob Buford, Patricia and Lee Gallion, and Kathy and Tom Potts a brother and sisterinlaw, Kenny and Billie Beth Ezell stepdaughter and husband, Joni and Oscar Albertini stepgrandchildren, Heath and Jana Myatt and Amy Myatt nieces, Erin Melancon and Catherine Buford Hernandez and nephew, Brent Buford. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Myrtis Ezell, who were of Baton Rouge. Bobby was a native of Baton Rouge, a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard and the Coast Guard Reserves. He was a licensed Realtor, a licensed residential and commercial contractor, a member of the Louisiana Builders Association, owner of Bobby Ezell Builders and coowner of Tangy Hardware. Bobby began riding horses as a little boy on his grandfathers farm, and one of his great pleasures in life was his cutting horses. He continued to ride throughout his life and was a member of the National Cutting Horse Association and a past president of the Louisiana Cutting Horse Association. He won many honors during his years as a cowboy, including third place at the Bayer Ward Select National Cutting Horse Championship. He was an active member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. God, church and prayer were an important part of his life. He was a member of the False River Lions Club and the Friday Mens Breakfast Group in Hammond. Bobby survived two bouts with throat cancer and three heart attacks in the last two years, and although he spent the last few months of his life without a voice, his love for life and for those around him were never more apparent than in the precious last days that God allowed us to have him. He is no doubt using his new voice to greet those who were waiting for him when he went Home. Those of us who are left will miss him terribly.
