Robert Mcbride

Robert “Bob” McBride, age 85, a long-time resident of Prairieville and a Baton Rouge native, passed away on February 1, 2021.   He enjoyed a long career at the Exxon Plastics Plant in Baton Rouge before retiring to what he called the best job he ever had: full-time Grandpa.  He was a proud graduate of Istrouma High School (class of 1954), where he met and later married his high school sweetheart, Judith Ann Eisworth McBride.   Afterward, he served in the Army and then returned home to complete his bachelor’s degree at Louisiana State University.

Bob is survived by his three children:  Deanna McBride Delapasse, Dr. Lori McBride and Charles McBride, four grandchildren: Justin Delapasse, Jared Delapasse, Connor McBride and Logan McBride.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Bedie McBride, older brother John McBride and wife, Judy.  Bob was an active member of Ascension Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held Friday, Feb 5th at 10:00am at Resthaven Gardens of Memory (11817 Jefferson Hwy).  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Companion Animal Alliance www.caabr.org/donate.
