Robert Beddingfield

Bob was born Feb. 10, 1933 and passed away on April 25, 2016 at his home after a long and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Bob was graduated from Istrouma High School and earned a BS degree at LSU. He retired from Paxon (now ExxonMobil) after 40 years of service. Bob was happily married to his high school sweetheart, Jerry Turner for 63 years and together they had three children, daughter Brenda and husband David Zeringue, son Todd and wife Cheryl Beddingfield, and son Scott and wife Rhonda Beddingfield. He had eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles M. Beddingfield and Clarice Pagan Beddingfield and two sisters, Mary Mathis and Dorothy Brashier.

Bob was a faithful member of Blackwater United Methodist Church, and previously Baker United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities. Teaching the Men's Sunday School Class was his favorite.

Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy on Wednesday, April 27 from 11am - 1pm. Funeral service to follow at 1 pm. Services will be conducted by Rev. Dane Blankenship. Burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for their wonderful service to Bob and a special thank you to Regina and Amy for their love and devotion during Bob's illness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation at alzfdn.org.
