A retired auto-parts salesman and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 12:10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, at Sherwood Manor Nursing Home. He was 73, a U.S. Navy veteran and a native of New Orleans. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 26, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visiting at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church on Saturday, Dec. 27, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Tom Ranzino. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Schoemann Aupied; a daughter, Suzanne and husband Nick Simonette, of Charlotte, N.C.; son, Steven and wife Elizabeth Aupied, of Dallas; sister, Francis Naylor; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Bulah Aupied; sister, Violet; and brother, Walter.
