Robbie V. Wand

Robbie V. Wand, aged 94, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on October 13, 2024. Born on May 9, 1930, in Rosston, Arkansas, Robbie lived a life filled with love and devotion to her family and community.

She earned an associate’s degree in business, which provided her with the skills to make significant contributions in her professional endeavors throughout her life. This dedication served as a guiding light for her family, illustrating the importance of education and perseverance.

She is survived by her beloved children, Robert “Bert” G. Wand Jr., James “Jim” N. Wand (Sandra), and Nancy Wand Polwort (Spencer); grandchildren, Emily Kate Wand (Kyle Diez), Carrie Lee Wand, Joel Nash Wand, Jacob Neil Wand, and Regan Miranda Polwort Maas (Cade Maas); greatgrandchildren, Aiden Diez, Henry Maas, and Ezra Eckerman; and niece and nephew, Ellen and Tom Ferriss (Lee).

Robbie was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert G. Wand Sr., whose memory she treasured dearly. She was also preceded in death by her parents, AR Valentine and Jewell Nash Valentine; her daughter, Kay V. Wand; her sisters, Anna Rue Valentine Camp and Bea Valentine Ferriss. Additionally, she mourned the loss of her grandson, Robert “Ben” Benjamin Wand.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, at Parkview Baptist Church, at 11795 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA, 70816, with the funeral service to follow at 11:30 AM.

The graveside service will take place the following day, Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Easthaven Cemetery, 949 E. Monticello St., Brookhaven, MS, 39601.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Pat and Phillip Willis, the staff and members of Parkview Baptist Church, as well as their close neighbors, for their support during this difficult time.
