Rita Osdell

Rita Van Osdell, age 73, a native of Saint Stephens, AL and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on April 23, 2018.

Rita enjoyed playing the piano and singing in the choir. She also enjoyed her job and the people she worked with. Rita loved spending time with her friends, but family was the most important thing in her life.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Walter H. Van Osdell, Jr.; her children, Derek Overstreet and wife Kim, Kirby Overstreet and wife Kristie, and Tonya Overstreet Johnson; her grandchildren, Cody Overstreet, Abby Overstreet, Grace Overstreet, Joseph Overstreet, and Lauren Johnson; and her siblings, Tommy Johnson and Karen Bumpers.

Rita is preceded in death by her father, TC Johnson; and her mother, Earline Schramn.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 11:00am until funeral service at 2:00pm. Burial will immediately follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Pallbearers will be Dax Bumpers, Lex Bumpers, Cody Overstreet, Ramie Johnson, Jeff Johnson, and Joe Robinson.
