Rita Glade Musemeche was unexpectedly called home Thursday June 16. Glade, lovingly called "Maw Maw" by family and friends, passed peacefully of natural causes at her Baton Rouge residence in Shenandoah. God blessed Glade with a warm, vibrant personality, and a capacity for unconditional love. She honored Him by using those blessings to raise two sons and care for five grandchildren and three great grandchildren while their parents worked. Glade was a friend to all who met her.
Christmas Eve at Maw Maw's house had to be experienced to be believed. Glade spent months in the preparation.
Glade is survived by her husband of 54 years John; two sons, Rob of Baton Rouge and Barry and his wife Karon of Watson; grandchildren include Brett Ashlyn Musemeche Crain, and her husband, Jay of Denham Springs, Trey Musemeche, and his wife, Megan, Tyler, Maci, and Maxx Musemeche, all of Baton Rouge; great-grandchildren include Connor James Musemeche and Colby Rae Crain of Denham Springs and Madeleine Alice-Louise Musemeche of Baton Rouge. Glade is also survived by her sister, Marielise, of Baytown, Texas, her mother-in-law Doris Musemeche of New Iberia, two sisters-in-law, Diane Hearn and her husband Jim of New Iberia, Margaret Musemeche of Youngsville, as well as nieces Leah Touchet and husband Glen, Taylor and Morgan Touchet of New Iberia, Beth Cosker and husband John of Seattle, Washington, and nephew Greg and wife, Dawn Hearn of Shreveport.
Glade was born May 19, 1942 and was preceded in death by her parents, Danie and Rita Robin of Baton Rouge. She graduated from St. Scholastica in Covington and attended USL. John and Glade were married in the Catholic Chapel on the USL campus in 1962.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway. Visitation will resume Monday, June 20, 2016 from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM at St. Patrick Catholic Church., 12424 Brogdon Lane. Services will be at 2:30 PM Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with interment at St. George Catholic Church Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Rob Musemeche, Barry Musemeche, Trey Musemeche, Tyler Musemeche, Maxx Musemeche, Connor Musemeche and Greg Hearn. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jay Crain and Glen Touchet.
