Rita Chambers

Age 86 and a resident of Baton Rouge, Rita passed away on March 30, 2013 at The Carpenter House of Baton Rouge. Her husband Homer L. Whitey Chambers, mother Mary Saurage, son Timothy Joseph Chambers, stepchildren Janice Ray and Danny Lee Chambers, sisters Vera Martin, Margaret Samaha, brothers Leonard and C.J. Saurage, preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons Reginald and Todd Chambers, grandchildren Amy Suzor, Sarah Westfall, Reggie, Walter, Nicholas, Benjamin, Rexter, Racquel and Jason Chambers, Kelsey Weber, Britney Osborne, great grandchildren Sebastian and Jacob Westfall, Carmyn, Juliana and Brendan Suzor, Abigail, Benjamin and London Chambers, Evan, McKenna and Kiersten Chambers, Madaline, Kathryn, Timothy and Adan Weber, Kalie, Jordynn and Brody Osborne, Anissa and Brooke Chambers. Ritas final trail was blazed with the assistance of multiple health care providers, professionals, support staffs, organizations, and angels. A note of special appreciation goes to Patricia Brian of Baton Rouge for her long lasting love, devotion, and friendship. Rita will be laid to rest alongside her loving husband Whitey and son Timothy during a gravesite service at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Baton Rouge on Monday, April 1, 2013 at 2:30 pm. Rita lived a very long and fruitful life and will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, the family request that any memorial donations be made to the Cancer Society of Baton Rouge or The Carpenter House.
