It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Bailey Macmurdo announces his passing at the age of 52 after a very short battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Richard spent most of his life as a resident of the Baton Rouge area and was a graduate of both Baton Rouge High and Louisiana State University. He was active in Greek Life and was a proud member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He bled purple and gold and loved all things LSU. He worked through college at Gino’s Italian Restaurant and was adored by all who came into contact with him there. In more recent years, Richard worked as the office manager with his brother-in-law, Jameson Chauvin, with InLine Contractors. He was also a dedicated member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Richard Bailey is survived by his loving wife of almost 18 years, Stacie, and his two beautiful daughters, Lauren Lea and Bailey Kate. He is survived by his mother, Catherine Guidry Macmurdo; step-mom, Janet White Macmurdo; sister, Jennifer Macmurdo Chauvin and her husband and dear friend, Jameson and their children, Kaylin and Reid Chauvin. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Alison Meador King, her husband, Shawn and their children, Brennan, Carson and Kendall King; father-in-law, Alan Meador and step father-in-law, Edward Williams and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Edward Macmurdo and his mother-in-law, Bobby Meador Williams.
Richard was such an incredibly loving and friendly man. His smile could, and did, light up every room he entered. The only light that shone brighter was the love in his eyes for Stacie, Lauren and Kate. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
All services will be held at Resthaven Garden of Memory at 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, La 70816. Visitation will be Saturday, July 25th from 9-11am. The funeral will begin at 11am and be conducted by Father Phil Spano of Most Blessed Sacrament with Interment immediately following.
