Richard Hansen

Baton Rouge- Richard A. Hansen (Ric,) age 68, passed peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, June 27. He was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven by his parents, Ralph Hansen, Anna Mae and Bill Holland and brother Ron Hansen. He was a much loved Husband, Father, Grandpa, brother, son and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Dawn Hansen; two daughters, Dawnshannon Lloyd and Kimberly Hansen; son-in-laws, Harold Lloyd and Derek Patterson; and sister and brother-in-law Judy and Dave Fuhrman. He adored his 5 granddaughters, who called him Grandpa, Madison, Alyssa, Kennison, Olivia and Molly.

Ric had a strong faith in God and very much loved his family. He enjoyed woodworking and daily trips for coffee. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He never met a stranger, always helped those in need and kept everyone laughing with his jokes.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Jeremy O'Neal and the staff at DaVita Dialysis Center along with the nurses and staff at Clarity Hospice.

Visitation will be held from 6-7pm Thursday, July 2 at Resthaven Funeral Home, immediately followed by a Memorial Service and celebration of his life officiated by dear friend and Reverend, Charles Bledsoe. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Clarity Hospice of Baton Rouge.
