Richard Foster, Sr., 89, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Covington, TN and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was a loving father, whom his children nicknamed Teddy Bear. He was also known for his brilliant mind and sense of humor. He served as Staff Sergeant in the United Sates Army Air Corp. from January 1941 to January 1946. He attended LSU and graduated in 1948 with a degree in chemical engineering. He was a Chemical Engineer for LA Department of Transportation and Development, having retired in 1984. He also was an inventor with five United States Patents. Visiting will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Thursday, November 18 from 5pm8pm. Visiting will resume on Friday, November 19, from 11:30am until service at 1:30pm. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, ClaraBelle LeBeouf Foster one son, Richard E. Foster, Jr. and his wife, LaWanda four daughters, Deborah Davison and her husband, Robert Bobby Linda Medine and her husband, Johnny Pamela Martin and her husband, Fred and Betty Messina and her husband, Randy 12 grandchildren, Richard Foster, III Adam Foster Brandi LaBruzzo Dustin and Kourtney Davison Crystal Chaisson Dylan Martin Jacob Medine Laci Martin Randy Jr., Corey and Hollie Messina and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jessie Foster his sister, Stella and two brothers, Jimmy and John. Pallbearers will be his seven grandsons. Special thanks to Drs. Brian and Stephen Gremillion and caring nurse of Our Lady of the Lake, Natalie. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
