Rhea Dufour Landry, age 100, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on September 16, 2016. Rhea was born in Plaucheville, Louisiana, to Francois Dufour and Maranta Guillory. She was married to Alex Landry (deceased) originally from Belle Rose, La. and a retiree of Exxon. They lived for years on Geronimo Street in north Baton Rouge, where they raised three sons, all of which graduated from Redemptorist High School and LSU. She was flooded from her home in Park Forest last month, a disaster reminiscent of the big flood of 1927, which she lived through. Rhea was a member of St. Alphonsus Parish and a die-hard LSU fan.
Rhea is survived by her three sons and their spouses, Dale and Linda of Tucson, Arizona, Ed and See of Encinitas, California, and Ron and Wida of Austin, Texas; by four grandchildren and spouses, Chris and Elida Landry, Susan and Rich Saladino, Tara Landry, and Trevor and Julie Landry; by 6 great grandchildren, Taylor and Hunter Landry, Connor Saladino, Pepper Reihana, and Paige and Rhett Landry.
Rhea is preceded in death by 11 siblings and her husband Alex.
Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 11:00am until 2:00pm. Services will begin at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to either the American Cancer Society or Sophie's Haven Primate Rescue, 2462 Street Rd, Liberty, Mississippi 39645 in Rhea Landry's name.
