Rex Wood Thornhill, Jr. (Woody), age 54, a resident of Central, passed away on December 25, 2017. He was born and raised in Baton Rouge, graduated from Central High School in 1981, was a member of the Central High Choir, was lead male actor in the choir production of "Oklahoma," and served in the National Guard.
Woody is survived by his father, Rex Thornhill, Sr. and his mother, Sheila Thornhill; brother, Troy Thornhill, Sr. and wife Stephanie; brother, Daniel Thornhill and wife Deborah; sister, Theresa Thornhill Thibodeaux; six nephews: Troy Thornhill, Jr. and wife Alexa, Brandon Thibodeaux, Matthew Thibodeaux, Jonathan Thibodeaux, Justin Thornhill, and Brady Thornhill; and one niece, Madison Thornhill.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Milton and Faye Thornhill, Earl and Ann Hilburn, and Johnny Russell; and one niece, Jenna Thornhill.
Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm followed by a memorial service. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Pallbearers will be Troy Thornhill, Jr., Brandon Thibodeaux, Matthew Thibodeaux and Jonathan Thibodeaux.
In lieu of flowers, you may make donations to Shriner's Children Hospital, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or a charity of your choice in Rex Wood Thornhill, Jr.'s name.
