For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:18. Rev. Fuller was released from a lingering illness on the morning of Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010, at the age of 86. He was a man of unwavering faith and kindness whose patient nature was no less evident in suffering as it was throughout the happy years of his long and productive life. He was a man with a smile for everyone a man whose optimism and humor remained with him until the end. Born in Rosenberg, Texas, the Rev. Fuller was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in World War II. He was honored for his distinguished service at Guadalcanal, becoming a master sergeant at the age of 21 at the time, the youngest age ever to attain such a rank. In 1947, he became an ordained minister. He is survived by Irene Fuller, his wife of 66 years daughter, Linda Cheryl Fuller and husband the Rev. Tony Weatherly son, Van Evan and wife Janet Blakly Fuller grandchildren, Laura Holliday, wife of Todd Holliday, David Weatherly, husband of Chantel Weatherly, and Angela Weatherly.
