Mrs. Rena R. Howard

Mrs. Rena R. Howard, born on February 28, 1924, passed away on June 2, 2024, at the age of 100.  Rena was born in Raceland, Louisiana.  After graduating high school, she moved on to become a bookkeeper in the automotive industry, where she met her husband John, who was a mechanic. She enjoyed sewing, reading Danielle Steel books, crossword puzzles, and sending birthday and anniversary cards to family and friends. 

Rena is survived by her daughters Karen H. Timmreck & Beryl Howard; son-in-law, Ken Timmreck; grandchildren, Jill Timmreck Grace and Caleb Timmreck; great-grandchild, Ryker Allen Ruth; nieces, Midori Duncan, Marilyn Rothwell, and Gwen McGehee; nephews, Daryl Rodriguez and John Howard; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews & great-great nieces, great-great nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Howard Jr.; son, Theodore John Howard; parents, Theophile and Lydia C. Rodriguez; and brothers, Roland Theophile Rodriguez and Earl Abel Rodriguez. 

The family would like to give special thanks to The Hospice of Baton Rouge staff, Macy, Valerie, Gracie, & Lauren as well as the staff at The Butterfly Wing, Stephanie, Jake, Shelly, Natasha, Lala, Nicole, Avery.  St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church, Fr. Tat Hoang, Mrs. Mary Ann Burton, Fr. Rick Potts, Julia Meche, and Clay Boudreaux. Dr. Craig Alberty and all of the staff at Associated Veterinary Services.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church, 3808 Saint Gerard Avenue in Baton Rouge, beginning at 10:30 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon. A private burial will take place on Thursday June 13, 2024, at Abita Springs Cemetery #1 in Abita Springs, Louisiana.
