Reed Bayham

Reed James Bayham, age 18, a resident of Prairieville, LA, passed away on February 1, 2023.

Reed was a 2022 honor graduate from Dutchtown High School.  He enjoyed scouting beginning as a Cub Scout Bobcat at age 6 and earning Eagle Scout at age 17; he was also NYLT trained and inducted into the Order of the Arrow.  He was one of the most highly decorated Eagle Scouts from Boy Scout Troop 769 of the Istrouma Area Council, earning two bronze, one silver, and one gold Eagle Palms.

Reed was an avid fisherman who loved water sports and the outdoors.  He was a hard worker, very talented with his hands, and especially enjoyed mechanical projects.

Reed is survived by his parents Robert and Michelle Wiebelt Bayham, younger brother Joel Bayham; grandparents Robert M Jr. and Frances Bayham; Alita Giordano; and Nicholas J. Sr and Jackye Wiebelt; many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dutchtown High School Faculty and Staff; members of BSA Troop 769; Genesis Behavioral Health of Baton Rouge (The Maples); countless family and friends for their unwavering love and support.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM with service to follow. Resthaven Funeral Home; 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.  Reed will be laid to rest in the Bayham tomb in New Orleans St. Louis Cemetery No. 3 at a later date.
