Raymond Marcel Smith, 93, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on July, 10, 2022.
Ray was born in Mandeville, LA on April 29th, 1929. He graduated from Mandeville High and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was blessed with 68 years of marriage to Connie Smith. He retired after 40 years from a successful career as a State Farm Agent, Legion of Honor. Ray was a member of Trinity Union Masonic Lodge No. 372 since 1960. He traveled the world with Connie, and enjoyed numerous hunts in Mexico and Argentina with his wife and son. As well as, hiking the Grand Canyon, Smokey Mountains and Big Bend with Connie.
Ray is survived by his wife, Connie June Lipscomb Smith; daughters, Johanna Smith (Norman Chenevert), Belinda Smith Schwartzberg and Thelma Smith Reier (Chris Reier); eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son, Herbert William Smith; his parents, Herbert William and Julia Karl Smith; his brother, William Adam Smith; sisters, Audrey Marianne Zucca and Jeanne Marie Kauffman.
Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory at 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, July 14th, 2022, from 9:00am until services at 11:00. Burial will follow at Resthaven.
Pallbearers will be; William Christian Reier III, Benjamin Marcel Reier, Jay Meyer Schwartzberg, Raymond Marcel Smith, Kyle Zane Plaisance, Aidan James Diez, Michael Joseph Plaisance and Dustin Joseph Drago.
