Retired, Lt. Colonel William Raymond Doyle, age 82, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on November 16, 2016.
After college, Raymond joined the US Airforce and graduated pilot school. After active duty he and Gloria moved to Baton Rouge and he began a long career of selling Thermon products to plants across Louisiana and Texas. Raymond continued his Airforce career in the Reserve, earning the rank of Lt. Colonel. He was a Deacon at Jefferson Baptist Church. He was known to most as Raymond, but to his family he was Pop; a loving, caring and generous man with great wisdom to share.
Raymond is survived by his daughter, Camille Burkhalter; his two sons, Bill Doyle and wife Laurie, and Phillip Doyle; his six grandchildren, Krysten Babin and husband Brett, Jaime McCauley and husband Jonathon, Trey Doyle and wife Allison, Bradley Burkhalter and Wife Megan, and Brenton and Brody Burkhalter; and his four great-grandchildren, Adelyn Babin, Cecilia McCauley, Everett Doyle and Jensen Burkhalter.
He is preceded in death by his by his wife of 60 years, Gloria C. Doyle; his parents, A.C. and Doris Doyle; and his brother Cecil Doyle.
Visiting hours will be observed on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Monday 21, 2016 at Jefferson Baptist Church, 9135 Jefferson Highway from 9:00 AM until religious services at 11:00 AM. Officiant will be Dr. Tommy French. Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
