Raymond Scott Bowen, age 41, beloved husband, son, and brother, passed away at his home in Baton Rouge, surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 30, 2012. Born January 9, 1971 in Slidell, LA Raymond was a 1989 graduate of ChamberlainHunt Military Academy, of Port Gibson, Mississippi. He attended the University of Alabama and proudly served in the United States Navy, completing his service in 1996 at the US Naval Air Station, Sigonella, Italy. Raymond was a lifetime member of the Arbor Day Foundation and on August 19, 2000 married Danielle DeNault. Raymond was employed by FEMA in Louisiana as an Information Technology Coordinator and most recently as a supervisor at Cleggs Nursery in Baton Rouge. Raymond truly lived life to the fullest with simple pleasures visiting with friends and family, good food, barbequing in his backyard, and gardening. He enjoyed time with his dogs Flash and Lucy, and cheering on his favorite NASCAR team. His tremendous passion for the latest advances in technology and computers could be witnessed all over his home. Raymond is preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth Perrin Barden and Margaret McWhorter Barden and fathernlaw Robert DeNault. He is survived by his beloved wife Danielle Bowen mother, Peggy Paulson brother, Stephen Kevin Bowen and wife Monica uncle, Kenneth Perrin Barden Jr. and wife Margie cousin, Kenneth Perrin Barden III motherinlaw, Monica DeNault sisterinlaw Dominique DeNault brotherinlaw, John Jack DeNault Goddaughter and nieces, Peyton and Bryce Bowen, and nieces and nephews Jennifer, Hunter, John, Josephe, Jasmine, Jodie, and Dalton. Our family extends our gratitude to the doctors and staff of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and Louisiana HematologyOncology Associates of Baton Rouge for their support and encouragement throughout Raymonds courageous battle. In lieu of flowers, we encourage donations in Raymonds name to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy on Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 10AM until service at 11AM conducted by Associate Pastor Steve Berger. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
