Ray Duncan

October 17, 1949 — January 20, 2013

His wonderful sense of humor, laughter and smile will be greatly missed. Gone but never forgotten. After a long and courageous battle with brain cancer Ray passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at 10:20a.m., with his wife and family by his side at the age of 63. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 22, at Resthaven Funeral Home 11817 Jefferson Hwy, from 5pm to 9pm and will resume on Wednesday, January 23 from 10am until funeral service at 1pm. Burial to follow at Gateway Memorial in Livingston. He fought a strong and brave fight till the end with his loving and devoted wife Lisa by his side every step of the way. Ray was retired from ExxonMobil as a supervisor in the chemical plant with 38 years. He had many enjoyable and memorable vacations with his wife. Together they visited almost all 50 states and Canada. Ray loved the outdoors and sports. Ray excelled at every sport because his vocabulary did not include the word cant. He is survived by his wife, Lisa G Koles from Livingston daughters, Dawn Duncan Horn and husband Roy Angela Duncan Blanchard and husband Tommy parents, JW and Patsy Duncan special motherinlaw, Barbara Nell Koles sisters, Doris and Bill Brinkley, Lola White brotherinlaw, Randy Koles and Sandy Marshall grandsons, Justin Bellue, Jeremy Ray Bellue, Johnny Faulk, Jonah Faulk nieces and nephews, Buffy Brinkley, William White, Jason Duncan and Shannon, Misty Duncan, Randy Koles II and Morgan, Megan Koles Grantham and Daniel, Gabe Koles great niece and nephews, Avery Kate Grantham, Lil Jason Duncan, James and Ethan Duncan. He is preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Duncan and nephew Jesse Brinkley. He loved to play basketball, football and baseball. His love for golf was amazing and he was a very good golfer indeed. He always enjoyed playing around with his friends and family. Rays greatest outdoor love was hunting he was the best allaround and was able to enjoy hunting his entire life. He also loved bike riding and flower gardening with his wife. Our deepest appreciation to Dr. Jon Olson for his wonderful care and support. Pallbearers are Randy Koles, Randy Koles II, Raymond Cauillet, Lenny Viola, Rick Moore, Rockie Debenedetto, Marcus Deal, Vic Sages. Honorary Pallbearers are, Bill Brinkley and C J Rushing. In lieu of flowers make donations to St. Joseph Hospice of Baton Rouge, LA. Even in the darkest of day life continues.
