Randy John Gonzales

Randy John Gonzales, age 70, a resident of Maurepas, LA, passed away on July 20, 2023.

Randy was born on February 28, 1953, in Baton Rouge, LA. He worked as a Control Technician at Oxy Chemical until his retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in French Settlement, LA. Randy was also a former member of the French Settlement Volunteer Fire Department, and various hunting and skeet shooting clubs, and the APA pool league.

Randy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Trainer Gonzales; daughter, Brandi Gonzales Broussard (Terrell Broussard); son, Jeremy Gonzales (Trace Heitman); brothers, Michael “Mike” Gonzales (Tootsie Williams), Barry Gonzales (Robin Michael), Tim Gonzales (Jan Miller Hodge), and Greg Gonzales (Danielle Ewing); grandchildren, DeAnne Heitman Hanson, Tristian Gonzales, and Devin Harris; great-grandchildren, Kaelyn Gonzales, Jayce Gonzales, and Kolton Hanson; godchildren, Richard Jason “Gus” St. Pierre, Chad Mosby, Tim Gonzales, Jr., Gerald Anthony “Tony” Berthelot, Jr., and Joshua Kane Smith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John A. (Buddy) Gonzales, Jr. and Ruby Marcella Guitreau Gonzales; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James F. Trainer and Mary Ellen Spurgeon of French Settlement, LA.

Visitation will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 15710 LA 16 in French Settlement, LA, on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, beginning at 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will continue July 26, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church beginning at 9:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM, officiated by Deacon Jimmy Little. Burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA.

Pallbearers will include Tristian Gonzales, Devin Harris, Chad Mosby, Tim Gonzales, Jr., Gerald Anthony Berthelot, Jr., Hunter Gonzales, Blake Gonzales, Richard St. Pierre, Jr., Jordan Gonzales, and James Brignac. Honorary pallbearer will be Josh Smith.
