Pawpaw was born on August 25, 1923, in New Orleans and died on September 26, 2012, in Baton Rouge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Alice Tuminello, his wife, Corine Acosta Tuminello, his sons, Greg and Mark Tuminello and his wife, Ruth Gallent Tuminello. He is survived by his brothers, Roy and Rosemary Tuminello, and Robert and Hettie Jean Tuminello. He is also survived by his children, Karen Fawley, Chris Tuminello and Anne Arceneaux, Andy Tuminello, Pat and Terri Tuminello, Chuck Tuminello and Rick and Barbara Tuminello. He is also survived by his grandchildren David and Margee Fawley, Jennifer Fawley, Rachel and Kevin Gamble, Danny and Nicole Fawley, Sarah and Drew Weresuk, Ben and Ginger Tuminello, Lisa and Robert Culver, Drew Tuminello, Michelle Tuminello, Brandon Tuminello, Brent Tuminello, Joey Tuminello, Ashley Tuminello, Richard Tuminello, Joshua Tuminello and Jessica Tuminello. He is also survived by ten greatgrandchildren and countless family members and friends. Pawpaw served in the United States Coast Guard and was a veteran of World War II. He was founder and first president of Tuminello Optical Dispensary, Inc. He served as president of the Baton Rouge Boat Club, president of the Louisiana Association of Dispensing Opticians, president of the Catholic High Mens Club. He was a member of the A.C Lewis YMCA Get Wet Set and a member of the Cuckaroos. After retiring he participated in the Adult Literacy Project by teaching adults how to read. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, September 28 and from. 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 29, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. George Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic High School, St. Josephs Academy, St. Michael High School, the A.C. Lewis YMCA or to St. Josephs Hospice. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staffs of the Ochsner Medical Center ER and ICU, Promise Specialty Hospital, St. Josephs Hospice, Dr. David Sledge, Dr. Glen Gomes and Dr. James Ratliff. We would also like to thank his many customers during the more than forty years he served the Baton Rouge area.
