A retired telephone technician with South Central Bell with 31 years of service and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011. He was 85, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a native of Wichita Falls, Texas. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, April 21, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting continues at the funeral home Friday, April 22, from 11 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Gary Corbin. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Janet Parish Shook a daughter, Judy Perkins, of Baton Rouge a stepdaughter, Linda Robert, of Atlanta two sons, Steve Shook and wife Ginger, of Galliano, and Raymond Shook and wife Sherry, of Baton Rouge two stepsons, Latheal Parish and wife Janet, of Spring, Texas, and Paul Parish and wife Shirley, of Walker two brothers, Dale Shook, of Wichita Falls and Clarence Shook and wife Tonya, of Snyder, Texas six grandchildren, Vicki, Bart, Bret, Chad, Sundee and Brad seven stepgrandchildren, Virginia, Elizabeth, Chip, Ryan, Tommy, Scott and Katy nine greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Anna Shook a sister, Velma Johnston brotherinlaw, Bob Johnston and wife, Laverne Neathery Shook. He was a member of Fairfields Lodge 425, the Acacia Shrine Temple and the Scottish Rite, Baton Rouge Chapter 164 OES. He was also a member of Oak Crest Baptist Church for 30 years
