Priscilla Brewer

Priscilla Selman Brewer passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at the age of 68 at her home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

She is survived by her three sons Mark, David, and Justin, Mark's wife Kelli, and their sons, Cameron and Keller, Justin's wife Lauren, and their daughter, Alice, and David's fiancée Kayla. She is also survived by two sisters, Olivia Thomas and her husband, Vance and Sylvia Dial and her husband, Alton, and their children and grandchildren. She will be remembered and missed by her many devoted friends.

Priscilla was preceded in death by her loving husband, James "Rudy" Brewer, parents, Winnie and John Selman, and brother, Mark Selman.

Priscilla was an amazing spirit who truly loved meeting and building relationships with people. Her gentle heart, thoughtful words, and willingness to seek out the best in every person she met endeared her to friends, family, and strangers alike. She is and always will be irreplaceable.

Priscilla spent most of her professional career as a teacher at Episcopal High School in Baton Rouge where she was a faculty member for more than 40 years. She was loved for her infectious smile, warm disposition, and gift for bringing out the best in her students. Priscilla's favorite pastimes were cooking for friends and family and gardening. Family was paramount in her life, and she loved spending time with her precious grandchildren.

Priscilla's family would like to extend a special thanks to the members of the ALS Association Louisiana-Mississippi Chapter, and to Chantelle DeLeon for being a loving caregiver and friend during her final months.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home in Baton Rouge.

Visitation will continue on Thursday, September 3, 2015, from 11:00 AM until the time of services at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association Louisiana-Mississippi Chapter via their website or the charity of your choice.
