Pietra Bologna Brocato

Pietra Ann Bologna Brocato passed away peacefully at home on January 17, 2025, at the age of 93. Pet was the youngest of three children born to Maria Lungaro Bologna and Eugene Marion Bologna. Pet married her beloved Samuel Anthony Brocato, Jr. on November 18, 1950, and from that blessed marriage were born her four sons, Christopher Allen Brocato, Michael Anthony Brocato, Robert Charles Brocato, and Samuel Anthony Brocato III. Her husband Samuel, however, passed away unexpectedly on July 14, 1992, and thereafter Pietra remained a widow.

Pet devoted her life to the health and well-being of her family and was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. 

Pet was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel; brother, Francis Marion Bologna; and sister, Frances Barcelona.

Pet is survived by her two older sons, Chris (Susan) and Mike (Caroline); and her eight grandchildren, Melissa, Pietra, Christopher Jr., Anthony, Blaine, Brent, Peter and Robert Jr.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave in Baton Rouge. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, 4045 North Street in Baton Rouge.
