Phyllis Howell Hogan, age 69, a long time resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 16th, 2015.
Phyllis was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly, especially her beloved grandchildren. With her sense of humor, her generosity and friendly personality, she touched many lives. A native of New Orleans, she loved her heritage; the music, and the food that made the city unique. She was a passionate humanitarian, having worked with CASA, and lately, a member of Compassionate Friends support group. Phyllis loved nature and traveling, with Gatlinburg, Tenn. and the beaches of Gulf Shores her favorite vacation places. She was a very creative person; her favorite hobbies were gardening and especially creating beautiful stained glass pieces. She will be dearly missed by her loving husband, sons, grandchildren, family and friends, as well as her co-workers at Automated Filings Systems where she worked for 36 years.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gordon Hogan; sons Michael Hogan, Brian Hogan and his wife Melinda, their children, Ethan, Lily and Savannah; her sister, Gail France and her family, as well as many cousins.
There will be visitation and viewing on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM, with a Mass following at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 15615 Jefferson Hwy.
Pallbearers will be: Marcelo DeSousa, Austin Vavasseur, Jay Vitrano, Travis Niederhofer, Kenneth France and Glenn France.
Internment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery located at 11817 Jefferson Hwy, immediately following Mass.
