Phillip Melvin Brown, Sr., age 71, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on January 14, 2016 at Our Lady of the Lake.
Phillip was a retired Chemist who received his degree from Southeastern University. He loved the outdoors, his dogs, drawing, and cooking for his family.
Phillip is survived by his children, Phillip Brown, Jr., Amanda Ott, and Kenneth Brown; his grandchildren, Landon, Payton, Austin, Harper, Ronan, Sawyer, and Ireland; his mom, Peggy Brown; his sister, Dema and his beloved dogs, Dink and Mimzie.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jadine Thurman Brown; his father, Dewey Brown; and his brother, Nelson Brown.
Visiting hours will be observed on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 9:00 AM until the time of services.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM.
Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jadine Thurman Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund, C/O Regions Banks, 6350 Jones Creek Rd. Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
