A loving husband, wonderful father, respected attorney, brother and son, he passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be remembered for his kindness, loyal friendship, his sense of humor and his honesty. He was born May 2, 1958, raised in New Orleans and resided in Baton Rouge since college. He graduated from LSU in accounting and later obtained his CPA. He graduated from LSU Law School in 1984. He was a member of Theta Xi fraternity and the Baton Rouge Bar Association. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Conni Sherman Caire; two sons, Philip Jennings and Michael William; and a daughter, Kathryn Elizabeth. He is also survived by his mother, Merrel Loubat Caire, and his father and stepmother, Harry G. and Ann B. Caire. Other survivors include a sister, Carol Vick, and husband Steven L. Vick; four brothers and their wives, Clay and Patricia Caire, Dennis and Cheryl Caire, Peter and Kimberly Caire and Kevin and Bonnie Caire. There are numerous nieces and nephews, including Jeffery and Susan Vick, Jason Vick, Kelly and Bradley Miller, Kimberly Caire, Ashley, Allyson and Alyssa Caire, Kristen, Kevin Jr. and Korey Caire; great-aunt, Marion R. Wagner; father-in-law, William Sherman; two sisters-in-law, Leah Middlebrook and Sheila Sherman. He was preceded in death by his firstborn son, Steven Jennings Caire. Visiting at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church was on Friday, Nov. 2, from 12:30 p.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Interment was in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
