Petrus Terhoeve

Pete passed away of Parkinsons Disease at his home in Baton Rouge on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 8pm. He was 77 years old, a native of Holland and a veteran of the Dutch Military. Mr. Terhoeve and his wife, Anna, immigrated from Holland to the United States in 1957 with the help of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. After becoming American citizens in 1962 they foster numerous children and adopted 3 children of their own. He enabled 3 young men to attend college. Petrus and his brother, John, started the Baton Rouge Soccer Association. He was a member of the Police Youth Camp, and was a sponsor for the Special Olympic Dutch Team. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Anna M. Terhoeve 2 daughters, Caroline Terhoeve and Frances DeJean 1 son Jeffrey Terhoeve and wife Dawn 4 grandchildren, Caitlin and Alexander DeJean Blaine and Brian Terhoeve. Preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henricus Terhoeve 2 brothers, John and Pete Terhoeve and 1 sister, Annie Van der Horst.
