Peri Williams

April 13, 1932 — February 8, 2010

Peri B. Williams died on Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, in Aurora, Colo. She was 77, born in Philadelphia and a resident of Baton Rouge. Peri was a first grade teacher who instilled the love of reading in all her students. She traveled the world with her husband, Mel, and lived in Bangkok, Thailand Bogota, Colombia Djarkarta, Indonesia Athens, Greece and Kuwait City. She was an avid LSU fan and is now at rest with her beloved Mel. Visiting will be at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Ave., on Friday, Feb. 19, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Gerald Burns. Interment will be at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by four daughters, Stacey Williams Marcel, Leila P. Kruelskie, Melony Williams Mont Eton and Sarah Monique Williams a sister, Ellen Najiye Lynch eight grandchildren, Keith Kruelskie, Brian Kruelskie, Amber Mont, Eton Gonzalez, Daniel Mont Eton, Megan Marcel Helwick, Jonathan Marcel and Victoria Marcel and a greatgrandchild, Rudy Helwick. Preceded in death by her husband, Melvin C. Williams parents, Nedjib Bekir and Arsenia Grefer and a sister, Pamela Bekir Thistle. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Tiger Athletic Foundation, P.O. Box 711, Baton Rouge, LA 70821.
