Peggy Faye Blackwell Weldon
Peggy Faye Blackwell Weldon, 84, peacefully went to be with her Lord on Monday, February 16, 2015.
While her memory faded in recent years, we are thankful that her faith, and her loving, sweet, and gentle spirit remained with her, and us, until the Lord called her home. Peggy, a native of Simpson, Louisiana and longtime resident of Baton Rouge, was a member of Parkview Baptist Church, having been active in the senior adult ministry for many years. She received her Bachelor's degree from Louisiana Tech University and retired from the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.
Peggy is survived by her sons, Charles Weldon and wife Brenda of Baton Rouge, Wray Weldon and wife Dorothy of Rowlett, Texas; daughter Nora Carles and husband Bert of Coral Springs, Florida; grandchildren, John Gray, Jr. and wife Rachel of Houston Texas, Melinda Parrie and husband Joseph of Natchitoches, Louisiana, George Gray of Houston, Texas, David Weldon and wife Jennie of Mandeville, Louisiana, Rachel Weldon of Rowlett, Texas, Renee Weldon of Rowlett, Texas, Stephanie Carles of Rome, Georgia, Emily Kazaks and husband Corey of Coral Springs, Florida, and Mitchell Carles of Coral Springs, Florida; and five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Simeon "Mack" Weldon; parents, Carl and Ethel Blackwell; daughter, Carla Leigh Gray; and brother, Glen Blackwell.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, from 10 AM until 11AM.
Funeral services, officiated by Reverend Merlin Liverman of Parkview Baptist Church, will immediately follow at 11 am. Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
