On October 24, 2022 our Mother, Sister, Mother in Law, Grand Mother, Great Grandmother and Friend passed away at the age of 91.
She was a long-time resident of Baton Rouge and had recently relocated to Texas. However, she never lost her Alabama roots and rooted for The Crimson Tide at every chance she could.
She was very devoted to her church and served in many capacities, including Deacon.
Quick of Whit and big of heart, her “spark” will be missed.
Proceeded in passing by her husband James Gilbert Spencer Jr. and eldest son Gilbert Stewart Spencer.
Survived by two remaining sons James Barry and Bruce Alan Spencer.
In addition, surviving members of her family include daughters in law Sandy Spencer, Diane Coe Spencer, Karen White Spencer, Linda Steslow and Robyn Smith. Three sisters Nancy Stewart Hogelin, Donna Stewart Salas and Sarah Stewart Szatmary. Seven grandchildren Ginger Spencer LeBlanc, Jeffery Spencer, Bradley Spencer, Samantha Spencer, Ian Spencer, Emily Spencer and Heather Spencer Markley. Eight great grandchildren Trevor LeBlanc, Colin Leblanc, Gillian Spencer, Grayson Spencer, Delaney Spencer, Noah Spencer, Luke Markey and Jack Markey. Two step grandchildren Brian Coe and Rickey Coe.
