Peggy Blanchard Chifici LeBlanc, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother, was born on April 17, 1932, and passed away at 12:45 am on Friday, December 23, 2011, in the presence of her loving family. She was 79, a native of Donaldsonville and resident of Baton Rouge, and a retiree of the Louisiana State Department of Motor Vehicles. Peggy is survived by her husband of 15 years, John LeBlanc four children, Gasper Chifici and his wife Denise of Dutchtown Michael Chifici of Gonzales Charles Chifici of Baton Rouge and Susan Chifici Charlet and husband Gerald Charlet of Denham Springs two brothers, Raymond Blanchard and wife Carolyn of Brusly St. Martin, and Kenneth Blanchard and wife Susan of Tuscaloosa Alabama. Peggy is also survived by her stepchildren Terry Landry, Mary Day, and Andrew LeBlanc of Donaldsonville, and John LeBlanc Jr. of Baton Rouge.
Peggy was Grandma or Mamaw to 9 grandchildren Amy Chifici of Owensboro, Kentucky and Ellen Chifici Van Wagener of Prairieville Justin Chifici of St. Amant and Jill Chifici Wiley of Gonzales Brandi Alford and Shelby Chifici of Denham Springs Brent Charlet, Katie Charlet Everitt, and Amanda Charlet of Denham Springs. Peggy was also Cookie Grandma to 10 great grandchildren, for her propensity to lavish cookies on them every time they visited. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Edith Blanchard, and by her first husband Henry J. Chifici. Visitation will be at St. Patricks Catholic Church from 9:30 am until Funeral Mass at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 27, 2011.
