After a 30month battle with brain cancer, Peggy passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at 4 p.m. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Friday, April 30, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Saturday, May 1, from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Miles Walsh. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Peggy was the beloved daughter of Coleman Hodges and Elora Dossett Hodges, wife of Carroll DiBenedetto Sr., mother of Alaine Benard, Angela Ledbetter, Dee Denise DiBenedetto and Carroll Buck DiBenedetto Jr. Peggys sonsinlaw are Dennis Ledbetter and John Sanders. Her grandchildren are Turner Benard, Amanda, Jacob and Zachary Ledbetter, Brooke Ethridge, Brittany and Brett Vreeland and Andrew, Sarah Rachel and Elizabeth DiBenedetto. Her stepgrandchildren are Joshua, Heidi, Jessica and James Ledbetter. Her greatgrandchildren are Sammy Ethridge IV, Brock and Bailey Vreeland, Payton Wiles Jr. and Taylor DiBenedetto. She is also survived by nieces, Lori and Lisa Meyerer and adopted son, James Michael Pyron. Peggy was lovingly cared for daily by her three daughters at home. She died surrounded by her extended family after receiving Anointing of the Sick administered by the Rev. Frank Bass. Known by all for her wonderful disposition, friendliness and laugh, Peggy exemplified even to her last breath the importance of family life. Peggy was lovingly and tenderly cared for by Amedysis Home Health and Hospice caretakers Amy Hunter, Leslie Kinney and Regina Cobb, and her sitter, Tina Distefano.
