Paula F. Romano, a native of Boston, Massachusetts and a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed away at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the age of 80. She retired after numerous years of service as an administrative assistant for the City of Baton Rouge.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Riley E. Bordelon, II; her second husband of 40 years, Anthony J. Romano; her parents Paul F. Fodale and Evelyn M. Fodale Barbera; and her sister, Maryrose F. Jolley.
She is survived by her son, Riley E. Bordelon, III; her daughter, Christina L Romano; her son-in-law, Marcus S. Shiver, that she loved as her own; and her sister, Lyn M. Fodale Andeen.
A lifelong caregiver, Paula loved unconditionally and listened without judgement. Not only was she a devoted loyal wife, but she was also an amazing mother that gave her all to her children.
Paula was a devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir. She was known for never meeting a stranger.
Paula was a self-proclaimed shopaholic, especially when it came to finding great bargains. She was a collector of many things like figurines, crystal, antiques, and teapots to name just a few. Family and friends attest to her wonderful cooking, in her kitchen known as “The Blue Door Restaurant”, where she made enough to feed an army. She was proud to be a “Damn Yankee” Bostonian living in Louisiana. Paula took much pride in her Italian heritage, always sharing that she was F.B.I. (full-blooded Italian).
