Paula Kaye Henderson passed away Monday, Aug. 9, 2010. at her home. She was 63 and had been a resident of Baton Rouge for more than 45 years. Paula was a true humanitarian and very active in the community. She fought tirelessly for equality and tolerance to make this a better world. After retiring from the Battered Womans Program, she continued to volunteer at the St. Gabriel Womens Prison, Bienville House for Peace and Justice, Battered Womans Program and numerous other organizations. Paula is survived by her mother, Ruth Henderson a brother and sister, Joe Henderson and Robin Henderson Batty a daughter, Robin R. Richardson three beloved grandchildren, Azriel Richardson, Julien Williams and Maximilian Williams extended family, and a brilliant collage of dear friends. Paula was a member of the Unitarian Church of Baton Rouge where a memorial service will be held in her honor Saturday, Aug. 28, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor can be made the Battered Womens Program, P.O. Box 5289, Baton Rouge, LA 70802, the American Diabetes Association , or any other chartable cause.
