Paul O. Whitted, age 87, who was a resident of Sunshine, LA, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015.
He was an operating engineer who worked on several large projects such as the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and the Niagara Falls Power Plant. Paul enjoyed "tinkering" with everything from cars to lawnmowers to watches. He was a member of the Masons for over 50 years and was also a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Dorothy LaFollette Whitted; daughter and son-in-law, Vivian and David Jones; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Jill Whitted; sister, Irene Lily; three brothers, Dwayne Whitted (Ethel), Ben Whitted (Carlina), and Tom Whitted (Nadine); four grandchildren; 2 great-grand-daughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Loma Whitted; and four brothers, Gene, Homer, Rex, and Kenneth Whitted.
The family request that visiting hours be observed on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until funeral services at 2:00 PM.
