Paul Wayne Tranchina, age 77, died on September 5, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on December 1, 1944, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He graduated from Baton Rouge High School in 1962 and attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette, Louisiana, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army Reserve.
Paul Wayne worked in the wine and spirits industry for over 44 years. He was adored by his customers and his colleagues at Republic National Distributing Company. His love of life was evident at work and at play. He loved riding his Harley and watching all sports, but especially college football. Above all, he loved spending time with his family. He was an amazing family man and the life of every party. His infectious smile would light up the room.
“Paulie”, as he was affectionately called by his children and grandchildren, is survived by his best friend and wife of 34 years, Lee Anne Rome Tranchina; his three children, Elizabeth Tranchina of Baton Rouge, Kristie Tranchina (Mark) Adame of Flower Mound, Texas, John Paul Tranchina of Baton Rouge; grandchildren Hannah Tranchina and Aidan Adame; sister, Dorothy McGraw of Natchez; nephews, Dennis McGraw of Cincinnati, Ohio, and David McGraw of Baton Rouge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ignace Paul “Mann” Tranchina and Lillie Mae Tranchina and his brother-in-law, D.W. McGraw.
Visitation will be held St. Jude Catholic Church, 9150 Highland Road from 9:00-11:00 a.m. with mass beginning at 11:00 a.m.
