Paul Ramirez, Sr.

Paul PawPaw Ray Ramirez, Sr., a native of Plaquemine and a resident of Gonzales, LA. passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the age of 90. He proudly and courageously served his country in WWII on the DE Robert F. Keller in the United States Navy. Ray loved gardening and enjoyed family outdoor activities. He was a member and usher at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Gonzales, member of the VFW, and the Knights of Columbus. Ray was an extremely loyal and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Ramirez Self and husband Jerry sons, Paul Tootie Ray Ramirez and John William Ramirez ten grandchildren and numerous greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Mary Sue Blanchard Ramirez parents, Peter and Laura Ramirez stepbrother, George Cat Ramirez and daughterinlaw, Rhonda Bankston Ramirez.

Visiting hours will be observed at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Monday, June 2, 2014 from 5:00 pm8:00 pm. Visiting will resume on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 9:00 am until service time. Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon, conducted by Brother Wayne Austin. Interment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Ramirez, John Allen Ramirez, Willie Short, Ben Fromenthal, Peyton Fromenthal, Danny Adams, and Honorary Pallbearer, Rodney Adams.
