80, passed away Friday, Sept. 4, 2009. He was born Aug. 11, 1929, in Cairo, Ill. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia Beno Moore, of Baton Rouge. He is also survived by a son, John Allen Moore, of Baton Rouge, daughter-in-law, Barbara, and grandchildren, Nicole Moore and John Austin Moore; son, David Clement Moore, of Dry Prong, and daughter-in-law, Gretchen Hunt Moore; stepgrandson, Travis Hunt Hamer, wife Charlotte and stepgreat-grandchildren, Auburn and Noelle Hamer, of Panama City, Fla.; daughter, Paula Moore Zimlicki, of Menlo Park, Calif.; son-in-law, Bernard J. Zimlicki, of Baton Rouge; sister, Rosemary Williams, of Waco, Texas; brother-in-law, Joseph Beno, of Clearwater, Fla.; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Gertrude Moore, who were of Cairo. He moved his family to Baton Rouge in 1963 after accepting a job at Uniroyal Chemical in Geismar, where he retired as safety manager in 1999 after a 35-year career with the company. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Paul loved literature, astronomy, classical music, crossword puzzles and a good joke. Visitation at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Tuesday, Sept. 8 from noon until religious services at 1 p.m. Interment at Resthaven Gardens Of Memory. Pallbearers are Bernard Zimlicki, Donald Houde, Vincent Stadolnik, Steven Madaffari, Robert Smith and Michael Williams. Honorary pallbearers are John Clancey and J. Kenton Parsons. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either Catholic High School, St. Joseph's Academy or a charity of your choice.
