Paul Breaux Lovell, 60, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, February 17, 2018 after a brief illness with cancer. He was born October 11, 1957 in Houma, LA. Paul graduated from LSU in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He was currently employed as an environmental specialist with Shell Oil Company in Geismer, LA. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Anne Sigur Lovell, his two sons, Hunter James Lovell and Brennan Paul Lovell and a brother Clayton E. Lovell and wife Katherine of Houma, LA, and sisters-in-law, Alicita Sigur Collins and husband Craig, Caroline Sigur LeBas and husband Michael, Margaret Sigur, Michele Sigur Boatwright and husband John House, and Jennifer Sigur Hinton and husband Jason, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James L. Lovell, Sr. and Elizabeth B. Lovell, and his brother, James L. Lovell, Jr.
One of his greatest pleasures was cooking delicious Cajun food while spending time with his family. He was an avid LSU basketball and baseball fan. He also enjoyed fishing and duck hunting in the marshes of south Louisiana. While raising his children, he devoted countless hours coaching and volunteering at St. Thomas More and Catholic High School.
Visitation will be at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA from 6-8 pm on Thursday, February 22, 2018. Visitation will resume at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA from 9 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Fr. Michael Alello at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
