Baton Rouge

Paul Michael James, born on December 25, 1976, left this world unexpectedly on June 13, 2024, at the age of 47.

Born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA, Paul graduated from Central High School in 1996 and pursued a career in IT, driven by his lifelong passion for computers and technology. His brilliance and creativity in this field were a reflection of the depth of his curiosity and his eagerness to make sense of the ever-changing world around him.

Paul was a gentle soul, a peacemaker with a heart that overflowed with kindness. He believed deeply in doing right by others and found joy in lifting those around him. Despite life’s challenges, Paul’s childlike wonder and appreciation for the simple beauties of the world remained untouched. His love for family and friends was boundless, and he carried within him an innate sense of responsibility to spread goodness wherever he could.

Those who knew and loved Paul take comfort in believing he has found peace in a better place, free from the struggles that weighed on him. His absence leaves an irreplaceable void, but his memory will forever be cherished.

Paul is survived by his loving parents, Randy Louis and Susan Dianne Powell James; and his brothers, Robert Elvin James and John Louis James.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Matilda Jean Powell, Loney James, and Clyde Elvin James; and his sister, Jennifer Marie James.

Paul will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of compassion, humility, and love will endure in the hearts of many.
